We welcome inquiries from students and engineers working in industry who are interested in research. We are also open to academic discussion and research collaboration.
Our lab studies AI in real-world systems. We pursue research questions motivated by practical problems and focus on how AI methods are applied and evaluated. An established research record is not required, but a sustained interest in the questions we study is important. As large language models become part of research practice, we place particular value on independent thinking and critical judgment.

Our research in mechatronic systems and embodied intelligence focuses on perception and control for interaction with the physical environment. We also explore methods for decision making and action execution.
Computer Vision
We focus on scene understanding in computer vision, particularly object recognition and visual perception in complex environments.
Large Model Intelligence
We study agents for specific tasks and explore how large language models can be applied and implemented in specialist domains.
